The co-extrusion process can help reduce costs by reducing the use of expensive polymers and, instead, use inexpensive polymers that have properties that enable lamination which acquire the same barrier properties. Co-extrusion can also reduce laminations steps, adhesive costs, and eliminate solvent disposal problems.
